Overview
DRAINMOD is a field-scale, process-based hydrologic model for simulating the performance of drainage and related water-management systems on poorly drained, high-water-table soils. Developed at North Carolina State University, it predicts water-table depth, subsurface and surface drainage, infiltration, evapotranspiration, and runoff on an hour-by-hour, day-by-day basis over long periods of climatological record.
It is widely used to evaluate drainage design, water-table management, wetland hydrology, and the long-term hydrologic response of agricultural and forested lands to alternative management scenarios.
